Pretty Florals Pop-Up Card

Spread the love

Hello!

It’s been a few months since I posted cards. I’ve been busy making them for classes but haven’t had much time to do blog posts! Today’s card is a fun fold that features the Designer Series Paper from the Florals in Bloom Suite in the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog. I’ve been seeing different versions of this fun fold. This version is based on Susan Campfield’s Pop-up Parade fun fold. It looks complicated but it isn’t that hard to put together. It just has a lot of pieces!

Measurements

  • Card base – Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.
  • Inside of card – Basic White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Top and bottom Basic White bands cut at 3/4″ x 5 3/4″. Score at 3/4″, 1/1/2″, 4 1/4″, 5″
  • Center Basic White band cut at 3″ x 5 3/4″. Score at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 4 1/4″, 5″.
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ for background piece placed behind the bands. You can substitute the white cardstock for a piece of DSP or cardstock in a coordinating color.
  • Scrap piece of Basic White cardstock for greeting.
  • Floral Bloom Designer Series Paper
    • Top and bottom bands – 2 pieces-1/2″ x 2 1/2″, 4 pieces-1/2″
    • Center band – 1 piece-2 1/2″ x 2 3/4″, 2 pieces 1/2″ x 2 3/4″
    • Side bands – 2 pieces-1/2″ x 5 1/4″
    • Inside of card – one piece 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
  • In Susan’s examples, she matted each piece of DSP. I chose not to do this, so if you want to cut mats for each piece, add 1/8″ to all of the DSP measurements.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Fold the score lines on each of the bands and burnish with a bone folder.
  • Adhere all of the DSP to the three bands.
  • Adhere the left side of the three bands flush against the left side of the folded card base.
  • Emboss the Basic White background piece with the embossing folder of your choice. I used the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Adhere to card front, centering it in the middle.
  • Adhere the right side of the three bands flush against the right side of the card base.
  • Adhere the DSP side bands along the right and left side of the card front.
  • Stamp greeting with Secret Sea ink on scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. I used one of my favorite greeting stamp sets, Go To Greetings, which is retired. This is still one of my “go to” greeting sets! Run through die cutting machine with the small banner from the Stylish Shapes die set. Adhere to center panel with mini dimensionals.
  • Adhere the remaining piece of DSP to either side of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Adhere to inside of card. Stamp greeting or leave blank to write a note.
  • For a bit of bling, add a few small rhinestone jewels to the center front of the card.
