Potted Geraniums Card

Hello!

This Potted Geranium card is one of the cards we made at my monthly class last week. We made another card with this bundle and I will be posting it in the next week or two. When I think summer plants, geraniums always come to mind and I always have at least one flower pot filled with them on the little patio off my kitchen.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of the striped paper from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3″ x 4 1/4″. Run through die cutting & embossing machine with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Stamp geranium leaves with Garden Green ink on piece of Basic White cardstock. This is a two-step stamp set so first, stamp the leaf base, stamping off once before stamping onto the cardstock. Stamp the detailed leaf image over the base.
  • Stamp flower base with Sweet Sorbet ink, stamping off once. Stamp detailed flower image with Real Red ink over flower base.
  • Stamp flower pot with Basic Gray ink, stamping off once for the base image and stamp detailed image over base.
  • Stamp the spike with Basic Gray ink on scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp greeting with Sweet Sorbet ink.
  • Run all stamped images through die cutting machine with the Geraniums Dies. Arrange pieces on the Timeworn Type piece and adhere. Adhere piece to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Cut piece of black & white gingham ribbon, tie into a small bow and adhere to flower pot with a Mini Glue Dot. Embellish with a few Basic Black Classic Matte Dots.

Texture Chic Note Cards

Hello!

This is my first project using the Texture Chic Suite. When I saw it in the new annual catalog I knew that it would be part of my first order because not only is the Season of Chic a versatile stamp set, but also because of the beautiful color palette of the Designer Series Paper, which is so soft looking and pretty, and the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. These are the thank you cards I sent to my customers for their June orders. I always forget that our note cards are a perfect size for quick thank you notes, so I pulled them out for this project.

Here is how I made the cards.

  • Card base – Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes- Item #159232
  • Stamp the “swoosh” image across the front of the card, alternating with Petal Pink and Pool Party ink.
  • Stamp two shells on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. This is a two-step stamp set so stamp the solid images first. I wanted a lighter base so for both ink colors, I stamped off once before stamping onto the scrap piece. Stamp the second shell image over the base with Sahara Sand ink. Run through die cutting machine with the shell die from the Chic Dies set.
  • Cut a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock at 3 1/4″ x 4″ and cut a piece of Adhesive Sheet the same size. Adhere to cardstock and run through die cutting machine with the large mesh die. Peel off adhesive backing and adhere to card base.
  • Cut a small piece of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to fit the three shell dies and cut a piece of Adhesive Sheet the same size. Run through die cutting machine, peel off backings.
  • Create the shell collage by adhering the die cut pieces over the mesh. Adhere the stamped shell images with liquid glue.
  • Cut a strip of the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper with the shell design at 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Run liquid glue around the front flap of the envelope. Adhere strip and cut around the bottom of the flap to remove excess DSP.

Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes

Hello!

I took another short break from blogging while I was on vacation last week in Savannah, Georgia. It is such a beautiful and historic city! I did a few on & off trolley tours, walked my feet off in the historic district, went on a fun evening ghost tour, walked along the riverfront and ate way too much good food! Here are just a few of the many pictures I took.

One of the beautiful squares in the historic district
Savannah River and bridge to South Carolina
Mercer Williams House as written about in the book “Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil”

Here are two cards we made at my stamping club last month that I hadn’t posted. They use the Cup of Tea Bundle and the coordinating Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes. The Cards & Envelopes include four each of the five new In Colors and are a quick way to make cards without having to cut and score cardstock for the bases, and the coordinating envelopes are very pretty! There are 20 card bases and 20 envelopes in the package, which at $10.00 is a great value!

Here is how to make the cards.

  • Select one of the card bases from the pack. I used the Starry Sky and Parakeet Party bases for these cards.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 1/2″ square and run through die cutting machine with the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. Adhere to card base.
  • Cut a piece of In Color cardstock at 2″x 2 1/2″. Stamp teacup image with coordinating ink and cut out with teacup die.
  • Cut a 2″ wide strip of Basic White cardstock. Stamp striped teacup image and run through die cutting machine. Using the same strip of cardstock, cut out a solid white teacup with the die. On the remaining piece of cardstock, cut a piece of an adhesive sheet and adhere. Run through the die cutting machine with the leaf teacup die. Adhere to solid white teacup. Adhere all three teacups as pictured.
  • To make the lemon, run a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock through the die cutting machine with the solid lemon die. On another scrap of Daffodil Delight, back it with an adhesive sheet and run through die cutting machine with the lemon slice die. Adhere to solid piece. Adhere to the base of the bottom teacup
  • Run scrap piece of Basic White cardstock through die cutting machine with the large tea bag die. Stamp word with coordinating ink. Die cut the heart from scrap piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and adhere to tea bag piece. Adhere tea bag to middle teacup.
  • Cut piece of coordinating 1/8″ metallic ribbon, tie in a bow and adhere to handle of the white teacup with a glue dot.

Sending Smiles Fun Fold

Hello!

Today’s card is a fun fold that pairs the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper with the Sending Smiles bundle in the new annual catalog. This is another project we made in my recent card club. I love working with black & white Designer Series Papers and never miss an opportunity to purchase them when a new set appears in a catalog. They sure do make the contrasting colors pop!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base: Cut a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Cut a piece of paper from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper at 5 1/4″ x 12 and score at 2″, 4″, 6″ 8″. Fold and crease along score lines. Adhere to card base.
  • Cut two pieces of Polished Pink cardstock at 3″ x 4 1/2″ and run through die cutting machine with the fourth largest Stitched Rectangle die.
  • Cut two pieces of Basic White cardstock at 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and run through die cutting machine with the fifth largest Stitched Rectangle die.
  • Using the Sending Smiles stamp set, on the first piece of cardstock stamp the large leaf image with Parakeet Party ink. Stamp one large flower and one smaller flower with Tahitian Tide ink. Stamp the centers of the flowers with Daffodil Delight ink. On the second piece of cardstock stamp the smaller leaf image with Parakeet Party ink and stamp the flower with Tahitian Tide ink. Stamp the large flower center with Daffodil Delight ink. Stamp greeting with Tuxedo Black Memento ink at top of piece. Adhere both pieces to the Polished Pink pieces.
  • Cut one piece of Basic White cardstock at 3″ x 4 1/2″. Run piece through die cutting machine with the fourth largest Stitched Rectangle die. Stamp the leafy flower image with Polished Pink ink several times across the bottom of the piece, staggering the heights. Stamp greeting at top of card with Memento ink.
  • Adhere first stamped image piece to the front folded flap, centering it and making sure to only put adhesive on the left side of the piece. Adhere second stamped image to the middle fold, again only putting adhesive on left side of the piece. Line up the right side edges so that they are even. Adhere the third Basic White piece to the inside of the card, making sure to line it up with the two other stamped pieces so that it doesn’t stick out when the card is closed.
  • Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 2″ x 4″ and run through the die cutting machine with the solid word die from the Sending Dies set. Cut a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock at 2″ x 4″. Cut a piece of an adhesive sheet the same size and adhere to the cardstock. Run through die cutting machine with the script die. Peel off adhesive sheet backing and adhere to Basic Black die cut piece. Adhere on a diagonal to the front card panel with liquid glue.
  • Embellish card front with a few Tahitian Tide dots from the 2022-2024 Matte Decorative Dots.

Symbols of Fortune Chrysanthemum Card

Hello!

Today’s card is a fun fold card that features the gorgeous chrysanthemum flower image in the Crane of Fortune stamp set. This is part of the Symbols of Fortune Suite in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. This was the first Suite I purchased when the catalog went live and while I’ve made a number of cards using products from the suite, I haven’t had a chance to post any of them until now. This suite will be retiring at the end of June so if any of the products in the suite have been on your wish list, now is the time to purchase them.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 2 3/4″ and 8 1/4″. Fold and crease sharply with a bone folder.
  • Cut two pieces of the chrysanthemum paper from the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper at 2 1/2″ x 4″. Cut two pieces from a different sheet of paper at 2 1/2″ x 4″. Adhere the chrysanthemum DSP strips to the front folds and the contrasting DSP strips to the inside flaps.
  • Cut a 4″ square piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp the floral image using the direct to rubber technique. Color the flowers onto the stamp with a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write marker. Color the leaves and stems with a Soft Succulent Stampin’ Write marker. Huff on the stamp to activate the ink and stamp onto the cardstock. This is a Distinktive stamp set, which will give you a photo realistic and beautifully shaded image. Brush image with Wink of Stella to add shimmer.
  • Cut out image with the largest scalloped die from the Hippo & Friend Die set. Note that this set of dies is now retired. You can use any other die that is similar in shape and size.
  • Stamp greeting with Evening Evergreen ink. I used one of the greetings from the Art Gallery stamp set. Embellish with three Opal Rounds.
  • Die cut a piece of Soft Succulent cardstsock with the same Hippo die and adhere to back of the stamped image.
  • Apply adhesive or liquid glue to the left side of the image and adhere to the left front flap.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stamp greeting from Crane of Fortune stamp set with Evening Evergreen ink. Stamp dragonfly image in upper right corner with Calypso Coral ink. Stamp leaf image with Soft Succulent ink in bottom left corner. Adhere to inside of card.
