Happy Hanukkah

Hello and Happy Hanukkah! I kicked off the holiday by attending a menorah lighting ceremony in Lancaster City last evening and then lit the first candle when I got home. Last week I had a Hanukkah cardmaking class and these are the four cards we made. Stampin’ Up! hasn’t had a new Hanukkah stamp set in many years so I pulled out my favorite retired set, Jewish Celebrations, and also used stamps and dies that I’ve purchased over the years from a few other companies. All of the cardstock, inks, Designer Series Paper and embellishments are Stampin’ Up! products. It is always a challenge to come up with creative ways to make cards for Jewish holidays so I always keep retired products that I think will work well for future holiday projects – so glad for my stash!

I got this fun card layout from LeeAnn Greff’s blog, Flowerbugs Inkspot. The menorah image is from the Jewish Celebrations stamp set. I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with one of the Tasteful Label dies. The Happy Hanukkah greeting is from a current SU stamp set, Snowflake Wishes. The embossing folder I used for the side panel is Stylish Scroll. The DSP and blue frayed ribbon are from the Boho Indigo Product Medley, which was in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. The inside greeting is from Altenew’s Love and Light Stamp set. The cardstock and ink are Misty Moonlight.

This is a fun fold card. I purchased Rubber Cafe’s Celebrating the Festival of Lights stamp set several years ago at a scrapbooking show and it is no longer available. I used Night of Navy cardstock and ink. The DSP is from You’re A Peach, which is currently available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I colored in the dreidels with Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends. The inside greeting is from Altenew’s Love and Light stamp set. The bling is from Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

This card features the beautiful menorah from Altenew’s Love and Light stamp set, which is still available. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock and colored it with Smoky Slate, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I die cut a piece of silver foil with a Stitched Rectangles die and popped the menorah up on it with regular and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The card base is Smoky Slate. The DSP is Springtime Foils Specialty DSP, which was a Sale-A-Bration offering a few years ago. The silver ribbon came in a combo pack with gold ribbon and is retired.

This is another fun fold card that uses the Celebrating the Festival of Lights stamp set. I heat embossed the dreidel and greeting with gold embossing powder on a piece of Basic White cardstock that I cut with one of the scalloped dies from the Stitched so Sweetly dies. I cut a piece of NIght of Navy cardstock with a larger scalloped die and adhered them together. Card base is Night of Navy and the gold striped paper is from the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper from the current 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I added a few Champagne Rhinestone Jewels for a bit of bling.

Merry Melody Christmas Card

Hello! Today’s card features the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I went through the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog many times before I actually noticed the Merry Melody folder on page 42. It is easy to miss because the photographs don’t show off this beautiful folder very effectively! The Poinsettia Petals stamp set and dies were one of my most favorite bundles from last year’s holiday Mini Catalog so I was glad that they carried over into this year’s Annual Catalog!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to card base.
  • To make the labels for the greeting, cut a scrap piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock at 1″ x 4″. Punch both ends with the squared edge on the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Cut a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock at 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and punch both ends. Stamp greeting from the Poinsietta Petals stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink and adhere to Shaded Spruce label. Adhere to card front.
  • Stamp the small and medium poinsietta images with Real Red ink on scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock and run through the die cutting machine with the coordinating poinsettia dies. Adhere a glue dot to the center of the larger image and adhere the two pieces together.
  • Stamp three pine boughs with Shaded Spruce ink on scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock and run through the die cutting machine with the coordinating die.
  • Run two scrap pieces of Real Red cardstock through the die cutting machine with the berry die.
  • Arrange the pine boughs at bottom right corner of card front. Adhere the berry pieces to back of poinsietta piece with glue dots. Adhere this piece to card front, overlapping the pine boughs.
  • Add a pearl to the center of the poinsettia.
  • For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stamp the magic and wonder greeting with Real Red ink. Stamp a pine bough with Shaded Spruce ink in bottom left corner. Adhere to inside of card base.

Pretty Pumpkins-Kylie’s International Blog Highlights

Hello! Today I’m participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. Readers get to vote on their top five favorites in the gallery and the top 10 winners will get to participate in an International Blog Hop later this month. The theme is “thank you”. This is the thank you card I sent out to my customers in October and it uses products from the Pretty Pumpkin Bundle and the Harvest Meadow Suite.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – Cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of Calpyso Coral paper from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • Stamp greeting from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set with Crumb Cake ink.
  • Cut piece of Crumb Cake cardstock at 1 3/4″ x 5″. Cut out with the thin wildflower die from the Harvest Dies.
  • Cut piece of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper at 2″ x 2 1/2″. Cut a piece of an adhesive sheet to the same size and adhere. Cut out with the small pumpkin die from the Detailed Pumpkin Dies. Note: The Be Dazzling Specialty Paper was a Sale-A-Bration item and is no longer available. You can substitute any other metallic paper in its place.
  • Cut a piece of the Crumb Cake paper that looks like willows from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper at 2 1/4″ x 4″. Cut a piece of an adhesive sheet to the same size and adhere . Cut out with the large filigree pumpkin die from the Detailed Pumpkin Dies.
  • Die cut a leaf from a scrap piece of a Gold Foil sheet.
  • Before adhering the Crumb Cake wildflower piece, trim the bottom of the stems to fit the Basic White cardstock piece. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Peel backing off the adhesive sheet on the filigree pumpkin and adhere to Basic White cardstock piece. Adhere the gold leaf under the pumpkin stem with liquid glue.
  • Peel backing off the adhesive sheet on the small pumpkin and adhere, overlapping the bottom of the wildflower piece and filigree pumpkin.

I’d be so appreciative if you would vote for my card! Click on the vote image below. Once you are in the gallery, click on the heart at the top right hand side of the picture as the hearts appear.

Introducing the Eden’s Garden Collection

Hello! Eden’s Garden is an exclusive early-release collection that is available for purchase from November 2, 2021 – January 3, 2022. Click here to download a full-color flyer. The Eden’s Garden Bundle will be available in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog, however the collection’s additional exclusive products are only available while supplies last. These products can be used to create beautiful projects for any occasion. The Designer Series Paper color combination of Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Gold Foil, along with the Garden Gems, are perfect for incorporating into your Christmas cards. This is a quick and easy card I made to feature two of the specialty papers.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut the larger piece of Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhere to card front.
  • Run a piece of 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Gold Foil through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  • Cut a smaller piece of Ever Eden Specialty DSP at 2 3/4″ x 4″ and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the second largest scalloped rectangle die. Adhere to the gold piece. Adhere to card front.
  • For the greeting, use a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it at 1/2″ x 3 3/4″. Punch both ends with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Stamp greeting with Soft Succulent ink. I used one of the greetings from the Art Gallery stamp set because I wanted to use a narrow label so I needed a greeting that would fit these measurements.
  • Use a scrap piece of Soft Succulent cardstock and cut it at 3/4″ x 4″ to make a mat for the greeting. Punch both ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. Adhere greeting to mat. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Add a few Champagne Rhinestones for some bling.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the blog post, the Eden’s Garden Bundle will be available in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. The following items will not be carried over and are only available while supplies last.

  • Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper – Item #159996
  • Ever Eden Cotton Paper – Item #159997
  • Garden Gems – Item #159277
  • Eden’s Garden Collection – Item#160849
