Favored Flowers Cards

Hello!

Today’s cards feature the Favored Flowers 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper that you can earn as a free Sale-A-Bration gift with a $50 purchase. There are only two days left for this year’s Sale-A-Bration so now is your last chance to get this beautiful paper! These cards are easy peasy to put together and require very little stamping – just a greeting! I wanted to show off the paper to its full effect.

Here is how I made the first card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of Favored Flowers DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Use your paper trimmer to place the DSP on the diagonal, lining up opposite points with the cutting track and cut. Hold paper and carefully turn so that the two remaining opposite corners are lined up with the cutting track and cut. You can choose to use one sheet of DSP and use the front and back for the card or you can cut two different pieces of DSP and mix and match the designs.
  • Adhere the pieces with the long ends at the top and bottom of the card. Adhere the pieces with the shorter ends on the sides of the card. There will be a space in the center of the card and that’s okay because the greeting will cover it. I used liquid adhesive to give me a bit more wiggle room when adhering the pieces.
  • Stamp a greeting of your choice with Blackberry Bliss ink on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. I chose a greeting from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. Run through die cutting machine with a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set. Run a scrap piece of Blackberry Bliss through die cutting machine with a larger circle from the Stylish Shapes die set. Adhere to greeting and adhere the piece to the center of the card.
  • For the inside of the card cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Cut a strip of the DSP at 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to bottom of the cardstock. Adhere to inside of card.

I made the second card as my customer thank you’s for January. Here is how I made it.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut two pieces of the DSP, one at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and one at 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″. Adhere the larger piece to the card base. Cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock at 3″ x 3 3/4″ and adhere it to the smaller piece of DSP. Adhere piece to card front.
  • Run a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock through die cutting machine with the second smallest rounded edge die from the Tailor Made Tags dies. Stamp greeting with Mossy Meadow ink. I chose the greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set.
  • Cut a piece of a 1/4″ or 1/8″ of ribbon at 8″. Slide through the hole at the top of the tag and make a slip knot. Cut ends of ribbon at an angle. I used Petal Pink ribbon that is retired, as it worked perfectly on the card!
  • For the inside of the card, I did the same thing as for the first card.

Dainty Delight Card

Hello!

Today’s card features the Dainty Delight bundle and the pretty Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper that you can earn for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. I love it when the DSP does most of the work for you! There are two sheets of floral wreaths that can be cut down to card size, which is what I used as the focal point.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP with the Fresh Freesia and white polka dot print at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • Cut a floral wreath at 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ from the sheet of wreaths and adhere to card front.
  • Cut a piece of Old Olive cardstock at 4 1/2″ x 5 1/4″. Cut a piece of adhesive sheet to the same size and adhere the sheet to the cardstock. Run the piece through a die cutting machine two times with the long leaf sprig die from the Dainty Delight Dies. Pull adhesive backing off the die cuts and adhere the sprigs to both side of the wreath.
  • Die cut two daisies from a scrap piece of Crushed Curry cardstock. Die cut two flower centers with a scrap piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Adhere flower centers to daisies with a small dot of liquid glue. Adhere daisies to right side of wreath.
  • For the center greeting piece, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and run through die cutting machine with the smallest of the rectangle-shaped dies from the Something Fancy Dies. Stamp greeting with Rich Razzleberry ink. The greetings that are in the stamp set didn’t fit the label so I used the birthday greeting from the Season of Chic stamp set, which was a perfect fit! Adhere to center of wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Embellish with a large Brushed Brass Butterfly.

Adorable Owls Cards

Hello!

I’ve been so busy with making cards and holding card making classes this month that I haven’t had a chance to post any of the cards I made until now! There are only eight days left to this year’s Sale-A-Bration promotion. I’ve had so much fun creating cards with the SAB products I earned and this week my blog posts will feature the cards I made. Today’s cards feature the Adorable Owls stamp set and yes, it is quite adorable! I paired the cards with the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper, which is an item you can get for free with a $100 purchase. This fabulous package has 48 sheets of 12″ x 12″ DSP with bright and cheerful colors: Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Petal Pink. These two cards are done with a few of my “go to” easy layouts and are a nice way to showcase DSP.

Here is how I made the first card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • Cut another piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock at 3″ x 4″. Cut a coordinating piece of DSP at 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ and adhere to cardstock. Adhere piece to card front.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 2″ x 3″. Stamp owl with bow tie image at the top of the strip with Memento Black Ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends: owl-Dark & Light Smoky Slate, eyes-Dark Balmy Blue, beak and feet-Dark Daffodil Delight, bow tie-Dark Bermuda Bay. Stamp greeting with Memento Black Ink.
  • Flag one end of the strip. Adhere to center panel.
  • Add some bling. I used a few of the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, which are now retired.

Here’s how I made the second card.

  • Card base – Cut a piece of Mango Melody cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Select three different coordinating pieces of Mango Melody DSP. Cut one piece at 2″ x 5 1/4″, one piece at 2″ x 2 3/4″ and one piece at 2″ x 2 3/8″. Adhere to card front.
  • Cut piece of Basic White cardstock at 2 1/2″ and stamp owl image with Memento Black ink. Color the image with these Stampin’ Blends: owl-Dark and Light Crumb Cake, belly-Light Pale Papaya, eyes-Light Pale Papaya and Dark Balmy Blue, beak and feet-Light Calypso Coral. Run through die cutting machine with a Layering Circle Die. Stamp greeting. I needed a very small greeting to fit the space so I went through all of my current stamp sets and found the perfect greetings in the Potted Geraniums stamp set.
  • Run a 3″ square piece of Mango Melody cardstock through die cutting machine with a scalloped edge Layering Circle Die. Adhere to stamped image. Adhere piece to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tie a bow with a piece of linen thread and adhere to circle with a mini glue dot.

    Happy Valentine’s Day

    Hello!

Wishing you a very Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you get to celebrate in a fun way! Here are the cards we made in my in-person classes last month. I ran three classes at my home. The fourth class was held for residents at St. Peter’s Apartments in Columbia, PA and was promoted by the local public library. All of the cards feature the Country Lane Floral Suite in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. I’ve been so busy that I had to hastily photograph them. Please excuse the not-so-great quality of the photos. I cased two of the cards from catalog. No instructions today – just photos!

Black and Pink Country Bouquet Card

    Hello!

Today’s card uses the Country Bouquet Bundle, however, I created this card with a totally different look by using my favorite Valentine’s Day colors-black, pink, and a touch of red-rather than using the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Papers. I had fun making this card and was happy that it came out looking like what I had visualized!

Here is how I made the card.

    • Card base – cut a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
    • Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and run through a die cutting machine with the Split Card Textures Die. Cut a piece of Polished Pink Designer Series Paper at 2 7/8″ x 5 1/4″. I used a sheet from the 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP that I had from the 2021-2022 annual catalog, which is now retired so you can use the DSP from the 2022-2023 annual catalog. Adhere to back of black die cut piece with liquid glue.
    • Stamp the greeting from the Country Bouquet stamp set towards the bottom of the black die cut piece with Versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder. The white embossing powder is no longer sold separately. It is now included in the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powder set, which also includes black and clear powders.
    • Stamp nine hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp set with Flirty Flamingo, Polished Pink, Blushing Bride, and Sweet Sorbet or Real Red inks on piece of Basic White cardstock and punch out with the coordinating Country Bouquet Punch. Stamp both the large and small hearts, which will be used on the inside of the card.
      • Arrange the hearts along the split line on the black die cut piece, overlapping them in different directions. When you like how it looks, adhere with liquid glue. Adhere piece to the card front
      • Stamp greeting with Polished Pink ink on inside of card. Randomly adhere a few of the smaller hearts that were punched out along with the large hearts.

      Abigail Rose Suite Cards

      Hello!

Today I have two cards for you, both using the lovey Abigail Rose Suite in the annual catalog. Sadly, I’ve had to make four sympathy cards between Christmas and New Year’s Day. For some reason, I never seem to get around to using this suite so I decided to finally break it open. While I was at it, I needed to make a birthday card for a friend so made two cards with the suite as well.

Here is how I made this sympathy card.

      • Card base – Cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
      • Cut a piece of the Petal Pink stripe paper from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper at 4″ x5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
      • Cut a piece of DSP with the script on the Early Espresso background at 2 7/8″ x 4 3/8″. Lightly color in the flowers with the light and dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. Color the stems with the light Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend. Adhere to a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock cut at at 3″ x 4 1/2″.
      • Cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock at 1 3/4″ x 3″. Stamp sympathy greeting from the Something Fancy stamp set from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog with Early Espresso ink. Run through die cutting machine with a label from the Something Fancy Dies.
      • Cut a piece of Natural 1/2″ Woven Ribbon at 12″. Wrap around tulip piece and tie in a knot on the left side. The ribbon is from the now-retired July-December 2022 Holiday Catalog. If you don’t have this ribbon you can substitute it with something else in your stash. Adhere greeting over the ribbon. Adhere the tulip piece to front of card.

Here is how I made this birthday card.

      • Cut a piece of Early Espresso cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
      • Cut a piece of Abigail Rose DSP at 3 3/4″ x 5 and run through die cutting machine with the next to largest Deckled Rectangle Die. Adhere at a slight angle to card front.
      • Cut a piece of the DSP that looks like a notebook page at 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ and run through die cutting machine with the third largest Deckled Rectangle Die. Adhere at an opposite angle to the first piece of DSP.
      • Cut a 3 1/2″ square of Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp floral image from the Cottage Rose stamp set with Memento Black ink. Color the large flower with light and dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends. Color the center of the flower with dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. Add Wink of Stella to the center. Color the leaves with light and dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Color the tiny flowers with light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend.
      • Run piece through die cutting machine with coordinating Cottage Flowers Dies. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
      • Stamp birthday greeting with Early Espresso ink on scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Run through die cutting machine with die from the Something Fancy Dies. Adhere to card front.
      • Add some bling with a few Champagne Rhinestones.
