Tranquil Textures Product Suite

Today I’m sharing a card I made using products from the Tranquil Textures Suite that is featured on pages 154-155 in the annual catalog.  I just love the octopus image and knew as soon as I saw it in the new catalog that I had to purchase the Sea of Texture stamp set and coordinating Under the Sea Framelits and Tranquil Textures designer papers.  I always gravitate to floral images so I wanted to challenge myself to do something different and I am really pleased with how this card turned out!

I used Mint Macaron cardstock as the base and then cut a piece of Tranquil Textures designer series paper at 4″ x 5 1/2″ as the base to build the collage on.   To make the window I cut a circle in the upper middle part of the designer paper using one of the dies from the Layering Circles Framelits set and then cut another circle from a contrasting lighter piece of designer paper using a die one size larger than the first one and then glued the two pieces together.  I stamped the octopus with Fresh Fig ink and one of the sea plants using Balmy Blue ink and cut them out  with the matching dies.  Next I cut the netting from Crumb Cake cardstock, sea plant from Soft Sea Foam and sand dollars from Tranquil Tide using the matching dies, and arranged them on the card to form the collage.  I stamped one of the greetings included in the stamp set in the upper portion of the circle, but you could also choose greetings from other sets that would fit inside the circle as well.  I finished it off with a few of the smallest size of Mint Macaron faceted dots from the new Faceted Dots embellishments.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Graceful Glass Product Suite

Graceful Glass is one of fourteen new product suites introduced by Stampin’ Up! in the new 2018-2109 annual catalog.  The beautiful stained glass images combined with a Gothic type font are unlike any other set I can remember seeing in my many years as a demonstrator. The thinlits dies look like art deco architectural images and add another layer of fine detail.  Check out the video below for an overview of the product suite.

I purchased this suite during the demonstrator pre-order and have enjoyed making a few projects with these products.  The first card uses the the stained glass window from the stamp set.  I stamped on vellum and colored using Poppy Parade, Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write markers.  I attached the image to a square of Whisper White cardstock and then die cut the black frame using one of the Stained Glass thinlits dies.  The greeting was die cut from one of the Layering Ovals framelits.  The card base is a 4 1/4″ square of Pineapple Punch, one of the new In Colors.  The stained glass piece and black cord are mounted onto a 3/3/4″ square of the Pineapple Punch cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The next card uses another new color, Balmy Blue, as the card base.  I am loving this new blue!  I cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of vellum from one of the designs in the Graceful Glass 6″x6″ Designer Vellum set of papers.  The architectural detail was cut with Gorgeous Grape cardstock using one of the coordinating framelits and attached to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I colored the butterflies with Soft Sea Foam, Gorgeous Grape and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Markers and attached them with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used this sketch from Splitcoast Stampers as my jumping off point.

Paper Pumpkin is Broadway Bound!

Stampin’ Up! is introducing something new this month.  They’ve designed a Paper Pumpkin kit to coordinate with a product suite!

The June Paper Pumpkin kit will coordinate with Broadway Bound, one of the product suites found on pages 68-69 in the new 2018-2019 annual catalog.  This is such a fun suite, filled with big, bold images, framelits dies and a bright, colorful set of designer series paper! The deadline to subscribe is June 10th.

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit. The projects vary from month-to-month, from cards to gift packaging, to home decor.  When you subscribe, on the 20th of each month a surprise package will be delivered to your door.  Each box contains everything you need to complete the project – a unique stamp set, ink spot, embellishments, and of course, the cardstock.  Included in your first kit is a clear acrylic block that you will continue to use with all future kits.  These kits are a great way to get a group of friends together for a fun evening of crafting!  For more information on how to subscribe, visit the Paper Pumpkin website.  If you would like to order any of the products in the Broadway Bound suite you can visit my online store.

Something Old Something New

Today I’m sharing cards I made with  two favorite floral stamp sets from the 2017-2018 annual and occasions catalogs.  I’m glad that both of these sets are carrying over to the new 2018-2019 annual catalog that goes live this Friday, June 1st! The something new is that I have used some of the awesome brand new colors that are part of the Color Revamp.

The first card includes products from the Petal Garden Suite which is being retired.  The Graceful Garden stamp set, Garden Trellis embossing folder and 1/8″ sheer ribbons will, however, be carried over into the new catalog.  The stamp set has two beautiful rose images that are perfect for coloring with watercolor pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers or Stampin’ Blends.  I stamped the large rose image with Jet Black StazOn ink onto Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored it with Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink and Granny Apple inks using a blender pen.  I matted it onto a piece Petal Pink cardstock that I embossed with the Garden Trellis embossing folder.  I used three Berry Burst glitter enamel dots for a touch of bling.  For an added accent, I used the the Seasoned Layers Thinlits set  to cut a scalloped edge from a one inch strip of the Share What You Love designer paper.

Supplies used: Graceful Garden Stamp Set; Garden Trellis Embossing Folder;  Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pads; Jet Black StazOn Ink; Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink, Shimmery White cardstock; Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper; Glitter Enamel Dots (retiring); Seasonal Layers Thinlits; Blender Pens; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Big Shot.

This next card features products from the very popular Petal Palette Suite in the 2017-2018 Occasions catalog.  The Petal Palette stamp set and Petals & More Thinlits can be purchased as a bundle with a 10% discount until today, May 31st.  As of June 1st these products will be available in the new catalog but will no longer be sold as a bundle – each product can be purchased separately.  All other products in this suite will be retiring, including the Petal Passion designer series paper, one of my most favorite paper sets in all the years I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  For this card I used Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green cardstock and inks and they sure do pop against the black and white background paper.  I’m loving this color combination and know I will be using it on many future projects!  I used a pearlized doily against a background of the Highland Heather cardstock, which I cut out with one of the scalloped circle dies from the Layering Circle Framelits set.

Supplies used: Petal Palette Stamp Set; Petals & More Thinlits; Layering Circles Framelits; Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather cardstock; Petal Passion designer series paper (retiring); Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pads; Jet Black StazOn ink; Pearlized Doilies; Blender Pens; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Fine Tip Glue Pen; Big Shot.

Today is the last day that you will be able to order any of the retired products from my online store.
