Amour

Hello! Today’s card features products from the Parisian Blossoms mega-suite and it is for Valentine’s Day. There are two bundles in the suite and I used both of them for this card. I especially love the Eiffel Tower images. Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has included images of the Eiffel Tower in other stamp sets, however, I think this is the best one of all – it is tall and elegant!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base: Cut piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11,” score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder, run through your embossing machine. Adhere to card front.
  • Die cut the Eiffel Tower out of a piece of a Black Foil Sheet using the die from the Parisian Dies set. Adhere to card front. Die cut “Amour” out of a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock using the die from the same set. I had originally planned on using Cherry Cobbler but it didn’t show up as well as I thought it would as there didn’t seem to be enough contrast. In the end, I really like how the Flirty Flamingo looks! Adhere to the lower part of the tower. I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen for this.
  • Using the single flower image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set, stamp flowers with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Cherry Cobbler and Flirty Flamingo cardstock and cut out with the die from the Cherry Blossoms Die set. I like to use an odd number in groupings so decided on three flowers for each of the two groups. Arrange them on the card and glue them down with Multipurpose Glue so that you have some wiggle room to move them around until they are positioned to your liking.
  • I used a few gems from the From My Heart Faceted Gems in the From My Heart suite for a touch of bling.
  • For the inside of the card I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and stamped the Valentine’s greeting from the Meant to Be stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink. This set was in the 2019 Occasions catalog and was carried over to the 2019-2020 Annual catalog. It is a lovely set and has a fantastic set of dies, Stitched Be Mine, that were also carried over. I used the Stamparatus to partially position the large blossom image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set and stamped it with the Tuxedo Black ink.

Heart Collage Card

Today I’m sharing a heart collage card. This is one of the cards we made in my Valentine’s Day class and it features the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper in the From My Heart suite in the Mini Catalog. Some of the papers in this set include red and pink foil accents – such fun!

I used the Meant to Be stamp set pictured on page 76 and the Forever Lovely stamp set on page 81 in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, along with the Stitched Be Mine Dies on page 195. These three products were originally in the 2019 Occasions catalog and I was so happy to see them carried over this year. I love the images and the set of dies is fantastic!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of red foil DSP at 5 1/4″ x 4.” Tie piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine around sheet and adhere to card base.
  • Cut piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4 1/2″ x 3″ for the collage base.
  • Use the filigree die to cut a heart from a scrap of Real Red cardstock.
  • Stamp the heart image with Real Red ink and die cut.
  • Use a scrap of the striped DSP and die cut with one of the elongated heart dies.
  • For the foil heart, punch out with the plain edge punch from the Heart Punch Pack in the product suite. I chose not to purchase the punches so I cut it out with the paper snips.
  • Arrange the hearts in a pleasing design and adhere. I adhered the filigree heart first, using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
  • Attach the collage piece to the foil paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For the inside of the card cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stamp a Valentine’s Day greeting of your choice in Real Red ink. I used a greeting from the Forever Lovely stamp set.
  • Stamp the scattered heart image from the Forever Lovely set twice with Flirty Flamingo ink along left side of cardstock.

Meant to Be

Hello!  Today I have two cards made with the Meant to Be bundle to share with you.  This bundle is one of two in the All My Love mega-suite.  Both cards are 4 1/4″ square.

Here is the first card, which is a collage made with several pieces from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits.  I love heart images and was bummed when the Sweet and Sassy Framelits dies were retired last year, so am delighted that we now have a beautiful new set of hearts!

Here are the steps to make the card.

  • Cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and fold in half.
  • Cut a piece of All My Love Designer Series Paper at 4″ square and adhere to front of card base.
  • Use the large scalloped edge framelit to die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Run through Big Shot.
  • Use the smallest scalloped edge framelit to die cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  Run through Big Shot.
  • Use the heart edgelit die to cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  There are two options for adhering this piece to the card.  You can cut a piece of a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere to the Lovely Lipstick cardstock before running it through the Big Shot or you can use the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
  • Arrange die cut pieces on card front and adhere.  Cut a length of Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ Grosgrain ribbon, tie into a bow and adhere to card using a Mini Glue Dot.

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ square for the inside of the card.  Stamp with a greeting of your choice.  I used the “Happy Valentine’s Day” greeting. from the Meant to Be stamp set.  I also randomly adhered a few of the little hearts that popped out after die cutting with the edgelit.  Be sure to save these pieces so you use use them to add a little extra something to your cards!

Here is the second card I made.  I had an idea in mind when I started out and it took some twists and turns however I was happy with how it ended up!

Here are the steps to make this card.

  • Cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and fold in half.
  • Cut a piece of All My Love Designer Series Paper at 4″ square.
  • Use the ornate heart from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits to die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Run through the Big Shot.
  • Use the medium scalloped die to cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  Run through the Big Shot. You will use the inside heart piece from the Flirty Flamingo and can save the frame for another project.  To adhere the  hearts together line up the bottoms of the two hearts.  I used Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue or you can also use the Fine Tip Glue Pen and lightly dot along edge of Flirty Flamingo heart piece. I added a few pearls for a little bling.

  • Stamp the “You Make me Happy” greeting with Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White cardstsock. Die cut stamped greeting with smallest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits and cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the coordinating scalloped edge framelit.  Adhere together.
  • To finish off the card front, cut a piece of white ribbon to fit around the piece of Designer Series Paper.  Adhere with snail tape, wrapping both ends of ribbon to back of DSP.  I used Whisper White Sheer 1/8″ Ribbon, which is now retired.  Adhere the greeting over the ribbon.  Adhere the ornate heart piece to the top of the card.  Make sure that you only apply adhesive to the bottom piece of the heart.  You also need to make sure that once the heart is attached that the height of the card doesn’t go past 5 1/4″ so that it fits nicely into the standard medium size envelopes.

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ square for the inside of the card.  Stamp with a greeting of your choice.  I used the “Wishing You a Lovely Day” greeting from the Forever Lovely stamp set.  I also stamped the little floral image in the center, using Flirty Flamingo ink.
