Leaves of Holly Card

Hello!

Today, I’m posting my last Christmas card for the season and it is from the Boughs of Holly Suite. I had big plans to do many more cards with this beautiful suite, but you know what they say about the best laid plans……… I didn’t get around to using much of the Boughs of Holly DSP, however, I think this is an elegant card, even without it. I chose to use Very Vanilla cardstock rather than Basic White to give a richer look. I used the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder for the background. This folder is one of my all-time favorites and I will never part with it!!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – Cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and run through a die cutting and embossing machine with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to card front.
  • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 3″ x 4″ and using the leaf label die from the Holly Berry Dies, run through die cutting machine. Run a scrap piece of Old Olive cardstock through die cutting machine with the double leaf die. Adhere to the leaves on the label.
  • Run small scraps of Old Olive and Evening Evergreen cardstock through die cutting machine with the sprig die. Adhere behind the leaves on label. Adhere label to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • Run a scrap piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock through die cutting machine with the berry die. Die cut the berry accent piece with a scrap piece of Vanilla Glimmer Paper from the Glimmer Specialty Paper. Adhere to berries. Adhere to label.
  • Die cut the smaller label with a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp greeting with Cherry Cobbler ink. Adhere to leaf label.
  • Embellish card front with several Cherry Cobbler Festive Pearls.
  • Cut another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″, stamp greeting and adhere to inside of card.

Holly Jolly Christmas Season

Hello! Today I have another card made with products from the Painted Christmas Suite. I also used the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder, which is my favorite holiday embossing folder from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut a piece of Real Red cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of the Garden Green and white Painted Christmas Designer Series at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhere to card base.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to card base.
  • Cut a piece of DSP at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ from the print with the small berries and pine leaves and run through die cutting machine with the largest label from the Seasonal Labels Dies. Adhere to the Merry Melody embossed piece.
  • Run a scrap piece of Real Red cardstock through the die cutting machine with the berries die from the Poinsettia dies.
  • For the Garden Green leaves, emboss a piece of the cardstock with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder and then die cut two leaves from the Seasonal Labels dies. I found this idea somewhere online but don’t remember where. It adds some nice additional texture to the card.
  • For the greeting, die cut a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with a label from the Seasonal Labels dies. Stamp greeting from the Christmas to Remember stamp set onto the label with Real Red ink.
  • Cut a length of Real Red Sheer Ribbon.
  • To finish assembling the card front, adhere one leave to the upper left of the DSP label with a few glue dots. Adhere the other leave to the opposite side, staggering the height so that it appears shorter than the first leaf. Adhere the red berries in between the leaves with a few small dots of liquid glue.
  • Make a loop with the ribbon. Lay the ribbon down at an angle and adhere in the center of the ribbon with a small piece of Scotch Tape. Make a loop, bringing the ribbon back to the opposite side, once again adhering it in the center with another piece of tape. Bring the ribbon back to the opposite side and tape again. Trim ends of ribbon.
  • Adhere greeting over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Merry Melody Christmas Card

Hello! Today’s card features the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I went through the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog many times before I actually noticed the Merry Melody folder on page 42. It is easy to miss because the photographs don’t show off this beautiful folder very effectively! The Poinsettia Petals stamp set and dies were one of my most favorite bundles from last year’s holiday Mini Catalog so I was glad that they carried over into this year’s Annual Catalog!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″, fold and crease with a bone folder.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to card base.
  • To make the labels for the greeting, cut a scrap piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock at 1″ x 4″. Punch both ends with the squared edge on the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Cut a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock at 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and punch both ends. Stamp greeting from the Poinsietta Petals stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink and adhere to Shaded Spruce label. Adhere to card front.
  • Stamp the small and medium poinsietta images with Real Red ink on scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock and run through the die cutting machine with the coordinating poinsettia dies. Adhere a glue dot to the center of the larger image and adhere the two pieces together.
  • Stamp three pine boughs with Shaded Spruce ink on scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock and run through the die cutting machine with the coordinating die.
  • Run two scrap pieces of Real Red cardstock through the die cutting machine with the berry die.
  • Arrange the pine boughs at bottom right corner of card front. Adhere the berry pieces to back of poinsietta piece with glue dots. Adhere this piece to card front, overlapping the pine boughs.
  • Add a pearl to the center of the poinsettia.
  • For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stamp the magic and wonder greeting with Real Red ink. Stamp a pine bough with Shaded Spruce ink in bottom left corner. Adhere to inside of card base.
